Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
This policy explains what Poolie Finance collects, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your alias and your password. Your password is stored only as a one-way argon2id hash, never in plain text.
- Wallets you save: wallet addresses you add to your account. They are private to you.
- What you post: posts, comments, follows, your avatar and cover photo. Location and camera data (EXIF) are stripped from images.
- Security data: a hashed form of your IP address and a random device cookie, used for rate limits, lockouts and stopping referral abuse.
- Referral data: clicks on referral links (counted with a hashed visitor ID) and which account referred you.
What's public
Only your alias, avatar, cover photo, headline and what you choose to post or make public. Your email and wallet addresses are never shown on profiles, posts, share cards or links.
Why we use it
- To run your account and keep it secure.
- To show your positions and stats to you.
- To run The Poolside and referrals.
- To stop spam and abuse.
Cookies
We use a few necessary cookies: one to keep you logged in, one to protect forms against cross-site attacks, a device cookie for abuse checks, and a referral cookie that lasts 30 days. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We don't use outside email, analytics or payment providers today. If that changes (for example an email provider for verification and password resets, or a payment provider for subscriptions), we'll update this policy first. Our servers are hosted by Fly.io in Sydney.
Blockchain data
Positions and transactions on public blockchains are public by nature. Poolie reads them; it can't make them private or delete them.
Keeping and deleting
We keep your information while your account is open. Deleting your account from the Account page removes your account, saved wallets, follows and public profile. Security logs are cleared within a few days.
Your rights
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, contact us first and we'll try to fix it. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
